Madeline Myers:
To write-- to share the love and despair hatred and demise for reasons why we cry. To express our loneliness and release our inner beast the reality-- we refuse to let lease our lives that we run following in the footsteps of the traveling sun. We write-- we breathe the air, so fair of another one’s victorious might. But in our hands-- it becomes-- Our triumphant land. |
Sonnet by Anonymous:
Without warning and in a moments haste my pupils dilate, swelling with my tears. My overly dry mouth fills with an iron taste and I can only think of my deepest fears. Without any real rationality my heartbeat races, flushing my cheeks with red. My hands and back sweat uncontrollably and my voice catches, leaving words unsaid. Without consideration or remorse my guts twist, forming elaborate knots. My limbs all shake as my muscles convulse and I can not form a coherent thought. Whether it is for minutes or for days, anxiety will leave you in a haze. |
